Lee's crowned saloon car champ again
Lee Scott is just the sort of race champion the big budget
boys hate. For the second year in succession the Dunton Quality
Engineer has 'recycled' a Ford engine from the scrap yard
and won the BRSCC Road Saloon Car Championship.
"It's fortunate that one of my sponsors is in the used
parts business," said Lee, who rebuilt this year's race
Fiesta XR2i. "I replaced the head gasket during the season,
but that was the only work necessary. I compete in the standard
class so I just build the engine to the Ford specification.
They have usually done at least 100,000 miles by the time
I get them for racing."
